Java Personal Plan
As discussed earlier in the term, this course, Introduction to Programming - Java will be run as a seminar. Everybody in the class has some experience programming, either for the web or for robotics, and there are lots of people with experience programming in C++.
There are many resources available to us: individuals with knowledge, books on the subject and online resources. We will need to capitalize on this opportunity and learn as much and as well as we possibly can.
This will require a personal commitment by everybody to do their work in learning Java. It is absolutely essential that each person in class have ownership and responsibility for his or her own learning.
Here are some questions to help identify your interests, needs and abilities:

Explain a bit about what you have already done with computer programming. Give specific examples, personal projects, jobs, course names, etc.
What do you want to learn from this course?
What do you know that will be helpful in learning a new programming language?
What do you need to be successful in learning a new programming language?
Discuss a bit about the ways you like to get information: book based info, lecture format, online tutorial. What do you like about each, what don't you like about each?
How much work on Java are you willing to do outside of class?
Recognizing that it is early in this introductory, semester class, answer this question as fully as possible:
