Here are a few things you can do with your editor to make it more user friendly (or not)

Use two command line windows, one for editing your code and one for doing your file access commands. Keep them both open and use each for one purpose.

make the window full screen

Press Alt and enter to make the editor window full size. This also works in most microsoft programs, power point, media player explorer. Sometimes F12 will have the same effect.

Change the color of your editing text

type color then an space and a number and it will changge the text color

if you type an number and a letter, the first will be the text, the second will be the background

to get info on a command type the command and a space then a slash and question mark. For instance c:\color /? will get you all the color commands.

to get a list of all the dos prompts, type c:\help

Change the size of your display text
